He was a seminal figure who bridged the world Traditional European Jewry with the modern world of America, the Yeshiva world with Academia. Talmudist, Philosopher and Orator, he dedicated his life to his students at Yeshiva University, even passing up the position of Chief Rabbi of Israel. He lead the Modern Orthodox community over the second half of the 20th century, and cultivated a whole generation of teachers of Torah, communal leaders and academics and Jewish thinkers.

Our Speaker:
Elliot Chodoff is a political and military analyst specializing in the Middle East conflict and the global war on terrorists. His writings on have been on the recommended reading list at the US Army War College. His articles have appeared in the Washington Times, National Post of Canada, and numerous web journals. He is a lecturer at the University of Haifa and is writing a PhD dissertation in International Relations at Bar Ilan University on deterrence of terrorism.
Elliot is a major in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reserves. He presently serves as the Population Officer in the Operations Branch of IDF Northern Command. Elliot moved to Israel in 1983 and is a founding member of Eshchar, a community village in the Galilee, where he resides.
